Sterling is a proven advertising, marketing and public relations veteran. From a 16 year career in radio from sales to General Manager, to his firm Alpha Media & Public Relations, Sterling has seen and done it all. Helping clients grow their revenue and businesses has been part of his success. Helping politicians and referendums get elected or passed are also passions of his.
For 24 years his firm has produced the Southern University Head Football Coach’s TV Show, now called The Jaguar Football Show with Coach Dawson Odums.
But that’s just work, on the community involvement side, Sterling coached BREC youth baseball the whole decades of the ’90’s, with 4 city championships, and youth basketball almost a decade in the 2000’s at Sacred Heart School, with more championship teams.

- Co-Coordinator – Beta Iota Lambda Scholarship Golf Tournament – raised and awarded over $195,000, and provided over 98 scholarships to young men to go to college over last 24 years

- Recipient – Brother of the Year Award 2010 – Beta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
- Recipient – Boy Scouts of America – Whitney Young, Jr. Award 2010
- Recipient – Baton Rouge Association of Black Journalists – Pioneering Journalists Award 2018

Education wise, Sterling is a graduate of Redemptorist High School, and Northwestern State University. Sterling is married to Shelia Delozia Sterling and is the proud father to Todd, Jr. – 24 and Elise Marie – 22.
